"Best dressed guest"
I read these three little words somewhere - probably online - and it has kept me thinking. Do I aim to be the best dressed guest? Do I care if I am? Isn't that something that I, as a clothes lover should be aiming for?
I used to, at some stage of my life, always dress to the nines. I didn't care if I was over-dressed. All I cared about was wearing clothing that I loved and that made me feel great. Somewhere, over the past few years, that has completely disappeared. I sometimes now, after some clarity, look at some items in my closet and I wonder what went through my head when I bought it. It might be boring as heck, bland in colour and shape or just plain blah. I'm thinking back now to the days that I would not have been caught dead with an item like that in my closet/on my body/in a shopping bag.
I'm not sure what went wrong along the way, but things are changing. I'm bored with boring looks and looking forward to continuing on my new fashion path. One where I don't care if I am over-dressed or stand out. A path that I've created for myself by my love for clothing and my passion for dressing up. I'm not saying that I'm aiming to be the "best dressed guest" at any party just yet, but I'm much closer to that girl, the old me, the real me, the fashion-loving me than in a long time.
I'll take it one step at a time.
Day 122 - Outfit 122
Definitely not the outfit of anyone who wishes to be the best dressed in any environment, but it is works for work, plus the top is actually really cute, you just can't see it clearly. (since it got quite chilly today). Also, the pants, are not the most fashionable pants on the planet, but everyone has a pair of fat-pants that they have to wear every now and then on those days where you just don't feel like yourself.
Below is a pic of the top's cuteness. (note the fabulous lace trend)
Best dressed guest - a motto to live by! Aspiration, inspirational - and the reason I need a two-bedroom apartment for just me!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have to admit - lost a bit of inspiration and motivation on the really cold days - when dressing for work.
