A few weeks ago I posted with great excitement, about Versace at H&M. Well, they're doing it again. H&M already has a new designer collection ready and it will be available in March 2012. H&M is teaming up with great Italian design house, Marni.

Midnight...WHAT??? - Days 288 & 289

A few days ago I posted about Black Friday and I mentioned that most shops would open at around 4am. Well, this year, things have changed, shops are getting more desperate to get people to come to them, so most of them open at MIDNIGHT!!!

Yes, you read right, they are going to open at midnight and offer crazy specials to get people through the door at that time. Wow!

Not so sure if I will be doing that after a huge Thanksgiving dinner...

Fabulous Fabrics

This week I discovered the coolest website, http://www.spoonflower.com/.

On this website you can create your own custom printed fabric. How cool is that! I'm not yet sure what I will be doing yet, but I'm really looking forward to designing a fabric and maybe turning it into little pillows for the couch or the guest room.

I just love the freedom of creativity that this website offers you.

Black Friday - Days 284 & 285

Tomorrow, in one week's time is Black Friday. Not only is this the biggest shopping day in America, but it is also the craziest.

On Black Friday, shops usually open at around 4am and they have a few HUGE specials in store and then a bunch of good deals.

Usually, I try to avoid the shops on Black Friday, because the malls are crazy, the shops are overcrowded and you almost get a feeling of a "mob mentality", but since I'll be working in the mall this Black Friday, it is unavoidable. I think I might still avoid walking around in the mall on my lunch break to avoid the craziness. Afterall, a few days later, on Monday, we get "Cyber Monday" where you can get great deals online and shop from the comfort of your home. That's more my cup of tea.

So the count-down to the madness begins.

Something exciting is coming to Net-a-porter.com - Karl Lagerfeld is launching a 100 piece collection on the website. How exciting!

Karl Lagerfeld is a true and genuine artiste and one of the few remaining uber designers, so any time that I hear him releasing a collection for the masses, I get extremely excited.

Respect for the handbag

I've been watching and enjoying this season's Project Accessory (actually, it is the very first season of this new show) and this week the designers all had to make handbags. 

Some designers made some amazing bags and others were not quite as successful, but the thing that surprised me the most on the show is the announcement that the American handbag market is $7.5 million. Wow - respect! No wonder all the designers are branching into bags and other accessories.

Also, it doesn't hurt that the average woman owns about 6 handbags each. (Needless to say, my handbag collection is way over that number)

I really love the idea behind Toms shoes (stands for tomorrow's shoes) where they give a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair that is sold and I never really thought Toms shoes were extremely fashionable, but lately they have brought out some really blinging shoes and I'm kinda thinking they might be great for winter

DVF Wrap of the month - November

I do love the DvF wrap dresses but I have to admit that this one is not my favourite, because I don't think it will go with my colouring. I do however think the print is really cool.

One of my favourite fashion websites, Style.com has launched their first printed magazine and I have just received my Spring 2012 copy in the mail. I find the thought of that very exciting. Everyone keeps saying that print is dead and the Internet is taking over, but I find it refreshing that an online magazine is now going to print.

Zara in Sandton

Good news for everyone in Johannesburg/Gauteng - Zara, one of my favourite clothing companies, are opening up shop in Sandton. How exciting!

When I lived in London, I loved shopping at Zara, the Spanish outfitter. The best thing about Zara is that they cater for everyone. They have a more expensive line and they also have a cheaper line that is still made with quality materials and is stylish, fashionable and fun, all at the same time.

Yay for all you lucky people being able to shop at Zara - enjoy!

Project Accessory

I have been a huge fan of Project Runway for years and this year they have launched Project Accessory. I have been watching a few episodes and so far I am really enjoying it. Accessories is such a huge part of fashion and the industry. Not only does it completely transform an outfit, but most clothing designers are branching out and doing bags, shoes, jewellery and scarves because that is were they make the most money.

The judges, host and mentor are not the same as Project Runway's. As host/judge you get Molly Sims and the judges are designer, Kenneth Cole, InStyle Magazine Editor Ariel Foxman and the mentor is Eva Jeanbart-Lorenzotti. I must admit, I definitely am missing Tim Gunn - afterall, those are some big shoes to fill, but I'm sure Miss Eva will grow on me.

The show has barely started and I am already a fan. Not only because of the judges and contestants, but also because I think that it is about time that we pay some reality tv homage to the accessory.

Today is my birthday and I'll be wearing my new brown Enzo Angiolini boots that I bought this week.

I love these boots, they are funky and trendy and are very comfortable and at $150, didn't break the bank.

H&M

Great news Denver! H&M - amazing Swedish clothing giant - is opening its doors on November 10th.

I've been waiting for years for this occasion and I must admit that I am very excited about this store finally opening in Denver. I used to always shop at H&M when I lived in London and loved the great variety of clothes, fantastic prices and the fact that their target market is not teeny-boppers. 

 I will have to visit the store in the next few weeks - can't wait!

For a while now I have loved the Last Call by Neiman Marcus website and I could not understand why Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom didn't do the same with their hugely discounted items at Nordstrom Rack and Off Saks Fifth Avenue.
